Port Patrick

Just a short paddle today. Downwind and with the tide. Was an amazing morning, we were awoken with tea and scrambled egg n toast sandwiches. The tide was going to be with us all morning so we got ready and thanked our host. Off we went. The wind was blowing us across the bay and the fetch was building in just a short distance.
As we rounded the corner we tucked in under the wind and caught the tide conveyor belt. Along till the next headland and an open bay. We kept in close and then broke out into the wind to let it push us along instead of across it. Making good time.

Scotland so far has had many beaches where I would love to camp. A beach and grassland to the back of it, loads of drift wood for a fire. It’s amazing. Compared to the West Country where every beach seems to have been walked by everyone and picked clean of any sea debris. Beautiful.

We rounded the corner and Port Patrick was there the lighthouse and RNLI flag flying. We rounded into the harbour.
